Gadreel was the angel that guarded the Garden of Eden from evil, particularly Lucifer, who managed to trick Gadreel into letting him in. This ruptured the Garden's stability, triggering a series of events that caused the creation of Hell, Lucifer's falling from Heaven, humanity's corruption, and the creation of demons. As punishment for his failure, Gadreel was imprisoned within Heaven's dungeon and tortured for millions of years.
History[]
Gadreel was once God's most trusted angel. He was stationed by God at the Garden of Eden to protect it from evil. However, he failed at this task by letting the serpent in, cursing the Earth with evil, and so was dishonored but would claim that it was a mistake and not his fault, implying that he let Lucifer in by accident without knowing his intentions. His actions led to the chaos in the universe, the severity of which caused him to be locked in the darkest dungeon in Heaven for countless thousands of years, something that, according to Metatron, broke God's heart. Metatron amounted his image to "a sap" and "Heaven's longest running joke.". From the moment of his imprisonment, Gadreel's sole obsession was to one day escape and redeem himself, so much that he lost sight of the mission of protecting humanity. During his imprisonment, Gadreel was abused by the angel guard Kemuel for countless centuries but also befriended fellow inmate Daniel. Gadeel, along with his older sister Hannah, were let free on one condition, They kill the "containers" of the Nephilim. Nathaniel and Raziel stopped them and they were both locked back up.
Personality[]
Gadreel was once God's most trusted and reliable angel. He was well-meaning and benign. However, after his failure to prevent evil from infecting the Earth, Gadreel was dishonored.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Angelic Possession - As an angel, Gadreel needs a willing living human vessel to physically exist on Earth. If the vessel chooses, they can expel him.
- Immortality - As with all angels, Gadreel does not age and is immune to any earthly disease and toxin. He was present at the Garden of Eden and, according to Nathaniel, has been imprisoned since the beginning of time.
- Wings - Gadreel is able to display his wings.
- Enhanced Super Strength - Gadreel was able to take on armies of demons alone and was able to take on his older brother Nathaniel and his younger brother Raziel at the same time.
- Electrokinesis - Gadreel caused all the lights in a room to break just by walking down a hall.
- Flight - While disembodied, Gadreel can fly. While in a vessel, he can levitate.
- Healing - Gadreel can cure the bodily wounds and illnesses suffered by others, even those of a supernatural origin.
- Telekinesis - Gadreel was able to pin Raziel to a wall with just a wave of his hand and keep him there without any apparent concentration. He released Raziel by simply walking away. He later threw Raziel across a room with just a wave of his hand with enough force to knock him out.
- Advanced Holy White Light - When trying to find a vessel, he was shown as a bright white light that destroyed an entire block and killed a bunch of people.
- Smiting - He killed Lindsay with this power, but she was brought back by the Nephilim in her stomach.
- Mental Manipulation- Gadreel erased the memory of Lindsay falling in love with Nathaniel, but Nathaniel later restored it.
- Telepathy - Gadreel can tap into "angel radio" as well as read the minds of humans.
- Shapeshifting - Gadreel was able to take the form of his vessels mother in order to get a yes.
- Regeneration - Gadreel possesses accelerated healing abilities, which heals him and his vessels injuries within mere moments.
- Resurrection - Gadreel is able to bring those who have died back to life, or at least those who have been dead for a short period of time.
- Super Senses - Gadreel was able to find a warded Lindsay by locating a reaper who is holding her captive. Like the other angels, he can hear humans prayers and can sense their location.
- Spell Casting - He cast a blood sigil that made Nathaniel and Raziel disappear when they tried to kill him.
- Superhuman Endurance - Gadreel is able to recover quickly from torture that Nathaniel gave to him, saying that he has withstood much worse and can for a very long time.
- Apporting - Gadreel can teleport a human or monster.
- Chronokinesis - Gadreel can travel through time, with greater ease than lower angels, and he is also able to send others either forward or backwards through time, with the same ease. He can send others through time without having to travel with them as well. He can also bend (freezing and speeding up) the time.
- Teleportation - He can teleport from one place to another instantly.
- Molecular Combustion - With a snap of his fingers, Gadreel was able to to make a demon explode.
- Super Speed - Gadreel was able to use super speed to grab and snap a persons throat.
- Advanced Pyrokinesis - Gadreel snapped his fingers and a high-tier angel was set on fire and he touched Kemuel's shoulder and burned him from the inside, turning him into a pile of ashes.
- Sedation - By touching a guys forehead, he made him unconscious.
